Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the group reach places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Questers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can look forward to learning which adventurers will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
